Library Book Trolley Design: Quiet Wheels, Shelf Angle and Public Space Safety

Library carts solve a different problem from warehouse carts

A library book trolley is used in quiet public spaces. It needs smooth movement, low noise, stable book storage, clean appearance, and safe edges. A heavy-duty industrial design is not always the right answer if the trolley is too loud or difficult to turn.

Shelf angle and book stability

Angled shelves and shelf lips help keep books from sliding during movement. The shelf depth and spacing should match book size, file boxes, or archive materials. Double-sided access can improve efficiency but may need wider aisles.

Quiet wheels and floor protection

Rubber or quiet PU wheels help reduce noise and protect floors. Locking wheels can be useful when the trolley is parked for loading or shelving. The wheel diameter should match thresholds and floor transitions.
