Agriculture and Livestock Trolley Design: Corrosion, Rough Floors and Cleaning

Farm environments are hard on trolleys

Agriculture and livestock carts may face moisture, dirt, rough floors, feed residue, outdoor movement, and frequent cleaning. A trolley that works in a clean warehouse may fail quickly in a barn, greenhouse, or farm equipment area.

Material and finish

Carbon steel with powder coating can be cost-effective for protected indoor use. Galvanizing or stainless steel may be better where moisture, cleaning, or corrosion exposure is high. Buyers should describe chemicals, washdown methods, and outdoor storage before quotation.

Wheels and structure

Rubber or pneumatic wheels help on rougher ground. Side rails, mesh guards, and reinforced decks help contain uneven loads. Handles should be positioned for pushing with gloves and repeated daily use.
