Welding Distortion Control for Heavy Duty Trolley Frames
Welding decides whether the trolley runs straight
A trolley frame may look simple, but welding affects squareness, wheel alignment, deck flatness, handle symmetry, and long-term strength. Heat input can pull a frame out of shape, especially on thin tube or sheet assemblies.
Fixture control
For repeat trolley orders, fixtures help keep caster plates, side rails, handles, shelves, and mesh panels in the same position. This is especially important when the cart has four casters, drawers, doors, foldable structures, or equipment shelves that must assemble smoothly.
Welding sequence
Balanced welding sequence reduces distortion. Long continuous welds may not always be necessary; stitch welding, skip welding, and controlled heat input can improve flatness and reduce grinding. Visible welds may need a different process and finishing method than hidden structural welds.
Inspection points
- Frame squareness and diagonal measurement.
- Caster plate flatness and hole position.
- Weld bead consistency and visible defects.
- Handle rigidity and side rail alignment.
- Sharp-edge removal before powder coating.
