How to Choose a Custom Platform Trolley for Warehouse Loads

Start with the real load, not the catalog photo

A platform trolley quote should begin with cargo weight, cargo footprint, movement route, floor condition, and whether the trolley is pushed manually or connected to towing equipment. These inputs decide the steel tube size, deck plate, reinforcement ribs, caster rating, wheel diameter, handle height, and brake layout.

Why load class changes the design

A light-duty cart can use a simpler frame and smaller wheels. A 500kg or 1000kg platform trolley needs stronger caster plates, a stiffer deck, better weld control, and sometimes larger wheels to reduce rolling resistance. If the trolley is used for long routes, repeated shift work, or uneven floors, the design should be reviewed for operator fatigue as well as static load.

RFQ checklist

  • Target load capacity and cargo type.
  • Overall trolley size and usable platform size.
  • Wheel material, diameter, brake requirement, and floor condition.
  • Manual push, pull handle, tow bar, forklift pocket, or AGV interface.
  • Surface finish, color, logo, packing method, quantity, and destination country.
