Powder Coating, Galvanizing or Stainless Steel: Which Finish Fits Your Trolley?
Finish choice affects lifetime cost
Indoor warehouse carts often use powder coating for a clean appearance and practical wear resistance. Outdoor or humid applications may need galvanizing, zinc plating, stainless steel, or a duplex coating approach. Aluminum parts can use anodizing when corrosion resistance and appearance are both important.
Powder coating
Powder coating is common for carbon steel platform trolleys, warehouse carts, cage trolleys, and tool carts. Buyers should confirm RAL color, texture, coating coverage, masking areas, logo plate requirement, and packing protection because scratches after coating are costly to repair.
Zinc plating and galvanizing
Zinc plating is often used for small hardware and brackets. Galvanizing is more suitable for outdoor or humid-use steel parts, but it can affect appearance and assembly clearance. Threads, mating parts, holes, and moving parts need extra review because coating thickness can change the fit.
Stainless steel and anodizing
Stainless steel is useful for clean-area utility carts, kitchens, labs, and corrosion-sensitive environments. Anodizing is mainly for aluminum parts. Both choices should be matched to cleaning method, corrosion exposure, visible appearance, and budget.
RFQ notes
Tell the supplier whether the cart is used indoors, outdoors, in washdown areas, near chemicals, or in customer-facing environments. Include required color, corrosion expectation, cleaning method, and whether the finish must match previous orders.
